Dear Sexuality and Social Work members
We hope that wherever you may be, you are safe and healthy.
The world is currently going through an unprecedented global crisis which is causing human devastation across the globe. We are all trying our best to find this invisible and deadly enemy by the name of covid-19.
We are sure we are all following the WHO and our government advise to fight this enemy.Epidemiologists are of the opinion that the pandemic will be with us for a few more months. With this in mind, both the organising committee of the 3rd International conference in Mumbai, and the co-chairs of the group are monitoring closely the situation and we are discussing the best solution for our conference in November 2020.
We are currently working very hard for a successful and engaging conference. We have received over 150 abstracts from all over the world, and we have excellent keynote speakers.
Whilst we are still planning for the conference in Mumbai, at the heart of our discussion we have the health and welfare of our members and attendees. This is more important than the conference.
We are aware that the current situation is very unsettling, and no one can really make plans. As a committee we have decided to leave conference registration open until end of June 2020. At that time we will review the global and local situation and make a further announcement later in the summer.
We also would like to apologise as there may be a delay in our abstract review process as many of our scientific committee members are faced with major challenges at the moment.
We apologise profusely for any inconvenience that this may cause you. We are sure you will understand and whilst we will hope for the conference to take place, we would like to be honest in saying that if the situation does not improve, we have plans to postpone the conference for 2021.
We are sending you our best wishes in the hope that we can all meet very soon. In the meantime, please take care, stay safe and stay healthy!
Thank you for all of your support and work in the world.
Alfonso, Melissa, Kekti and Shubhada
