A new Routledge (Taylor & Francis) book series, Gender, Sexuality and Social Work, has been launched, creating an important scholarly space to explore the changing and dynamic intersections of gender, sexuality and social work.
The series is led by Assoc. Prof. Panagiotis Pentaris (Goldsmiths, University of London), with Series Co-Editors Mr. Alfonso Pezzella (Middlesex University London), Prof. Shahana Rasool (University of Johannesburg), and Assoc. Prof. Diana Kan Kwok (The Education University of Hong Kong).
The series invites critical and innovative contributions that interrogate and re-present practice, policy, research and pedagogy in social work. It foregrounds voices often marginalised within the profession and seeks to advance anti-oppressive, inclusive and affirming approaches to social work practice globally.
We welcome proposals for monographs and edited volumes. Topics may include (but are not limited to):
- Queer theory, feminist theory, intersectionality and critical race theory
- Deconstructions of binary identities and heteronormativity
- Power, privilege and oppression
- Trauma-informed and trans-inclusive practice
- Legislative and policy frameworks
- Lived experience and practitioner reflections
- Tools for anti-oppressive social work
Scholars, practitioners and researchers working in this area are warmly encouraged to consider submitting a proposal.
