Colleagues undertook an NIHR funded research project to identify the health and care needs of young trans and gender diverse people and their families.
This project aimed to improve the care and support of trans, gender diverse young people and their families, by identifying possible improvements to care and by providing resources, information and support for self-management.
We are delighted to finally share our research outputs! Two exciting new online resources to support trans young people and their parents and the professionals that work with them.

Each module contains 30 topics related to trans healthcare and features 100s of video, audio and written clips of trans youth and parents sharing their personal experiences. Read what young people and parents have to say about topics ranging from coming out as trans, experiences with GPs, mental health and support, school and college, gender identity services, hormones, surgery, sexuality, sexual health, media coverage, improving healthcare and more!
Watch and listen as they share, their feelings, experiences, struggles and fears, but also their joy, pleasures and hopes for the future. Learn about the reality of young trans lives and their parents and trans healthcare directly from the voices that matter, trans youth and parents themselves.
Please view the resources and share widely within your networks. Any feedback will be gratefully received.
